Stephanie Lake’s "DUAL" is a choreographic puzzle. Two solos are performed one after the other. Distinctly different worlds; contrasting, and seemingly unrelated. But, in a third act, the two solos miraculously interlock, forming a complex duet. "DUAL" asks questions about individuality and what is sacrificed as well as heightened by a union. Elastic, vibrant and industrial techno rhythms provide the basis for a chaotic ritual between man and woman.
"DUAL" received a Helpmann Award for Most Outstanding Male Dancer (Alisdair Macindoe) in 2013. Stephane Lake was nominted for the Helpmann Award and Green Room Award for Best Choreography that same year.
"DUAL" is part of Bora Bora's and Aarhus Festuge's Australian double package, which also includes the performance "Untrained".
"A memorable, visceral work, at once strange and familiar and brilliantly performed."
