The dancer Esther and the circus artist Milou can fly and dance on the walls. They move as powerful spider women in somersaults and leaps from the walls to the floor to suddenly sit on the ceiling like flies.
With the performance The Room Esther Wrobel wants to investigate how much the connection between video, this time animation and vertical dance has to offer. It is a question related to what is ‘real’ and how many different ‘reals’ can we experience in one small space. It opened a deep curiosity regarding surrealism and is joyful experience that isn’t over.
Esther Wrobel has collaborated with composer Camilla Barratt-Due and media artist Samuel Moore. The larger part of the work was created during a residency period at Performers House in Silkeborg.
