Now touring Denmark!

Four dancers and a giant balancing board - a dance through a rollercoaster of aggression and tenderness. With their performance Don*Gnu put everything on one board.

On the rotating stage The Turmoil the dancers must navigate in a world ruled by only one law - gravity. The premise is simple - no one can move without affecting the others. If you're not responsive and break the balance, the whole thing comes down.

The foothold is in constant negotiation. It is up to the dancers to find, create and keep the momentum that creates the dynamic balance which is N.A.R.G.'s focal point and makes the performance breathe.

Don * Gnu - Reumert-nominated for "Woman know your wardrobe" - excited the audience again at the premiere of N.A.R.G. in the autumn of 2014. They showed new sides of their imagination - and combined their trademark humor with depth, musicality and an underlying seriousness. The performance tours Denmark in the spring of 2015.

The show is supported by the Danish Arts Foundation, the City of Aarhus, Nordic Culture Fund and the Augustinus Foundation.

Co-produced by Bora Bora and Jojo - Oulu Dance Centre.
Tour organized in collaboration with Tumi network and Scenkonst Sörmland.

"It is easy to see and feel that the investigative, the playful and the challenging has been at the center. (...) As a whole N.A.R.G. exudes zest for motion and a commendable desire to explore the positive potential in aggression and conquer new territories in the landscape of dance on the exciting tilting stage. The two Don*Gnu leaders Jannik Elkær and Kristoffer Louis Andrup Pedersen can be proud of the choreography and staging, which they have created together with Christoffer Brekne."

About Don*Gnu

Don*Gnu - Physical Theatre is an artistic collaboration that focuses on dance and physical theater. The performances are entertaining, direct, expressive and very physical. The artistic trio at the helm consists of choreographers Jannik Elkær and Kristoffer Louis Andrup Pedersen as well as filmmaker Christoffer Brekne.

The company has previously created the performances "As A Start," "Men in sandals" and "Woman know your wardrobe." The latter Bora Bora co-production was nominated for a Reumert Award and received Aarhus' audience award for performing arts.

Company's name, Don*Gnu, is built around the paradox; to be one and several at the same time. Don as an individual and Gnu as pack animals, describes the relationship and the dynamics of cooperation between the individual and the group. That we are accountable as an individual, but only understand and live in relation to others. The performances have a naive and direct approach, underpinned by a recurrent reflection and deep human empathy.

Don*Gnu are resident artists at Bora Bora.
