A lot can be said about humanity by looking at our dorsal language. "Reck" opens on five muscular backs caught in spotlight, rousing like a growing rebellion. Oscillating between explosion and self-organisation, the onstage tribe guides us as much as they confound us. Botis Seva takes the audience out of its comfort zone, into a riotous experience crossing all the boundaries between hip hop, contemporary dance and theatre.

Botis Seva is a dance artist who works within the space of hip hop and theatre, and is the artistic director of the hip hop theatre company, Far From The Norm. Botis’ work portfolio crosses theatre performances, outdoor spectacles and immersive experiences.

Far From The Norm has performed nationally and internationally at festivals such as Sadler’s Wells Breakin’ Convention, Austria’s Hip Hop Goes Theatre, Festival HOP in Spain, and San Francisco’s International Hip Hop Dance Fest. They have presented work in theatres and venues across the UK including Birmingham, Weymouth, Wales, Nottingham and London.

In 2016, Botis presented his works at the two largest European choreographic competitions: Choreography 30 in Hannover, Germany and Copenhagen’s International Choreographic Competition, winning 1st place in both cases. Far From The Norm was also commissioned by Without Walls, Greenwich Docklands International Festival and Salisbury Festival to develop and tour "H.O.H" on the outdoor festival circuit.

Botis has been commissioned to create a new work for Scottish Dance Theatre as part of a double bill, premiering in Spring 2017.
