Anders Christiansen in a new dance-solo with live music.

The master of solos is pairing up with the charismatic finnish accordeonist Minna Weurlander.

In the stage’s graphic black/white univers, they surrender themselves to the music, which spands from grandiose classical to new and challenging and rousing accordeon music composed by Jakob Brandt-Pedersen.

In ACCORDION, Anders Christiansen works his way in to the heart and essence of dance. He starts with the beginning: dance as an expression and closely connected to music. A performance-project where he pairs up with the charismatic finnish accordeonist Minna Weurlander.

The man on stage is lured by the woman’s accordeon. He surrenders himself to the music that surrounds him, gets captured by it, and disappears into the roars of the sound. The two bodies breathe. Mirror themselves in the accordion. The instrument is the focus – a vast poetic iron lung – a differing body in dialogue with living bodies.

In ACCORDION Anders Christiansen focuses on body and instrument. The interaction between performer, musician and instrument is displayed on stage in it’s simple and graphic black/white scenography.

The live accordion music spands over the whole of its vocabulary. From grand classical over traditional folklore, to new and experimental and challenging accordion music specially composed for the performance by the danish composer Jakob Brandt-Pedersen.
