About the performance
OCEAN is a dance performance and installation in one, awakening the senses with dance, luminescent and futuristic deep-sea creatures in an organic and electronic ocean soundscape.
In an ocean full of plastic, we dive into an underwater journey in a magical and poetic ocean universe. Below the surface we meet waves, sea plants, sea animals … and plastic.
Tons of plastic bags, bottles and microplastics float in the world’s oceans, harming fish, plants and human beings. How can we use less plastic and how can we do it in a more efficient way than we do now?
OCEAN is an experience created from upcycled materials, sustainable production methods and recycled plastic, to spark reflections about plastic pollution, embracing a hope for the future.
OCEAN was originally created as a baby performance. This show is an adapted version aimed at an adult audience.

About MYKA (DK)
MYKA is a dance company under the artistic direction of choreographer and dancer My Grönholdt. MYKA’s works convey current and relevant issues that touch and inspire children and adults alike, together or on their own. The experiences are conveyed through sensual, aesthetic and magical interdisciplinary works with inspiration from nature. The works are often based on themes around sustainability and climate change and raise philosophical questions about how we as humans live our lives today – and what consequences this has for ourselves, each other, our world and our future.
