Collaboration with us

Collaboration with Bora Bora

We receive artistic proposals for residencies, guest performances and co-productions throughout the year and process them on an ongoing basis. Curation is done through our artistic council’s three annual meetings and we send out responses after each meeting.

We want to create that special Bora Bora experience with every team in the house. This means we collaborate equally and creatively with everyone involved, artists and office artists alike. Some of us make art – others make art happen.

Our ethical guidelines form the basis for a safe and respectful workplace for all bodies. Read them here.

We also welcome invitations to performances, screenings, etc. We want to see as much as possible and stay informed about the development of artists and companies. In some periods we receive many invitations, so we only respond personally to those we are able to attend.

It is not possible to rent Bora Bora’s stages for guest performances, but we do collaborate with festivals with their own curation.

When you send your enquiry to programming@bora-bora.dk, you will initially receive an auto-reply telling you exactly when you can expect a response.

Keep up with our programme by subscribing to our newsletter, or follow us on Facebook (Bora Bora and Bora Bora Residency Centre) or Instagram (Bora Bora and Bora Bora Residency Centre).

All co-production agreements with Bora Bora are made after consideration by the artistic advisory beard. If you would like to enter into a dialogue about a deal with us, please send an email with your materials and we will let you know when you can expect a response.

A residency in Bora Bora is an artistic period where companies or independent artists develop or produce new material.

A residency does not guarantee a subsequent co-production agreement.

Bora Bora offers two different types of residencies
– Open call residencies (see Bora Bora Residency Centre)
– Project residencies (see next item below)

We offer project residencies to companies and artists who need a development period in a professional black box to take their project to the next phase. Project residencies are given to companies and artists who already have external funding for their project.

In a project residency, Bora Bora offers
– Use of space for a period of time
– Opportunity for process viewing
– By appointment, we offer technical assistance and dramaturgical advice

To start a dialogue with us about a possible project residency, please write to programming@bora-bora.dk:

We offer regular dialogue meetings with artists who would like to develop a collaboration with Bora Bora. The meetings can be with either one of the house producers or the theatre manager.
