Le Cirque Du Bout Du Monde (BEL)
Der Lauf
On a catwalk surrounded by a dark David Lynch-like atmosphere, an acrobat with a bucket over his head performs a series of absurd circus tricks. He is only guided away from the brink of lurking disaster with the help of your and the other audiences' helpful shouts.
Information
Out of a dark and intimate atmosphere, halfway between David Lynch and Intervilles, comes five short pieces in the form of absurd games. Wearing a bucket on his head, this juggler sets off blindly on a series of experiments that will take him where he wasn’t expected. You will be his only guide and come what may. Nothing will be able to stop the course of things…
Except you, perhaps?
This show is organized as a course along a catwalk with audience on both sides. The audience is invited to participate by guiding the performer through a series of existential experiences in the form of juggled games: an interior household scene, an escalation of frailty, a joyful stoning or a fight of failure with oneself.
All these scenes question our relationship with others and with ourselves in a very concrete way: The audience takes the decision to help a blind juggler to turn his plates, the toss-the-ball game with 1000 balls imperceptibly turns into a happy stoning …
The performance, referencing the aesthetics of the original short film ”Der Lauf der Dinge”, will keep it’s industrial, mechanical, manufacturing side, with the presence of machinery, winches, pulleys and metal elements.
Authentic belgian surrealism: dark and joyful, strange and absurd, interactive and profound.
