“La Mala” is a pre-columbian and post-colonial fairy tale of two women, lived through the body of a daughter and mother.

“La Mala” is told through broken love stories, tinder dates, tales of crossing borders, of arriving, of being seen as exotic, of being told you are too much, or not enough.

“La Mala” is a love letter to my mother, an homage to all the mothers that have migrated carrying fear and hope.

About Escarleth Romo Pozo (NIC/PER/SE/DK)

Dancer and choreographer Escarleth Romo Pozo (NIC/PER/SE/DK) works across the Nordic region. Her artistic practice bridges ritual, and contemporary dance performance questioning the politics of embodiment and spectatorship.

By following the inner dramaturgy of the body, she creates layered stage worlds where ancestral memory, combined with physical intensity and poetic storytelling, positions the body as both an archive and a site of transformation.”
