A piece about the anger and injustice that simmer beneath the surface when one chooses silence as revenge and withdraws one’s presence, even as it bubbles up inside.
The piece explores how revenge does not always manifest as an explosive confrontation, but also lives in the silence, in the glances and in the absence of contact. Here, silence becomes an active weapon – a way to punish, protect oneself or maintain control. Through physical intensity and biting silence, the piece unfolds the tensions that arise when emotions rage beneath the surface and the body bears the weight of the unsaid.
The Silent Treatment was created and performed by the dance programme at the Danish Talent Academy in Holstebro and forms part of the production HÆVN, which premiered at Bora Bora in February 2026.
The piece was choreographed by Lene Bonde in collaboration with the dancers.
