Dance enthusiasts wanted!
We are looking for dance enthusiasts (40-65 years old) for “When The Bleeding Stops”
“When The Bleeding Stops” celebrates life in all its phases!
Bora Bora is looking for dance-loving participants (ages 40-65) who identify as women experiencing menopause for the performance When The Bleeding Stops. No dance or stage experience is required and much of your contribution will take place from the comfort of your own living room at a time mutually agreed upon with the artist.
When the Bleeding Stops by Icelandic artist Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir addresses the silence and taboo that seems to surround menopause. The performance explores personal experiences of growing older and articulates a world of vulnerability, shame, empathy and humor. It takes us into the private lives of different characters and delves into the many layers of (female) experiences associated with menopause.
Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir invites women from Aarhus and the surrounding area to participate in the project, just as she has successfully cast menopausal women as the main characters in the same show in cities like Prague and Düsseldorf.
WHEN?
Participation begins at the end of October and initially takes place online and is arranged individually. It includes a personal exchange with the choreographer and dancing in your own living room. During this process, short videos may be created and parts of them may be shown on stage after consultation with the participants. Participants are also invited to join the performances and dance on stage, but this is not a requirement.
If you are interested, please write to sjaja@bora-bora.dk. You can expect to hear from Bora Bora by October 15th.
The project is in English. There is an allowance for participation in the project and performances.
