A group of dance lovers from Aarhus gather on stage to share their joy of dancing with one another and with everyone in the audience. The participants are of all ages and bring with them a variety of experiences and dance styles. Together with Ásrun & Alexander, they create a unique dance performance for Aarhus. BALL isn’t about perfection, but about being swept up in the genuine joy of dancing!

Bora Bora invited dance loving Aarhusians to participate in a professional performance with Iceland’s national dance company on our main stage. Now you can see the result and catch the real joy of dance!
The Iceland Dance Company, led by choreographers Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Alexander Roberts, has invited dance-loving residents of Aarhus onto the stage.
They all share a love of dance, but their ages, genders, experience and dance styles vary widely. Now they stand together on stage in “Ball” to share their joy of dance with you. It is not about virtuosity, but the shared experience of dancing together in a beautiful mix of styles and expressions.
In the process, everyone has brought a dance and shared it with the rest of the group. Together with choreographers Ásrún Magnúsdóttir and Alexander Roberts and the dancers of the Iceland Dance Company, they have created the choreography for a completely new, unique performance. Ásrún Magnúsdóttir has recently received great praise for her dance scenes in the Icelandic TV series The Danish Woman.
You will experience a group of brave people who have never before performed together on stage. We look forward to sharing their infectious joy of dance with you in this Icelandic hit production, which played to full houses in its home country.

About Ásrun & Alexander (ICE)
Alexander Roberts and Ásrún Magnúsdóttir have been working closely together for a number of years on a range of dance and performance projects. Their focus as a duo has been on stretching the dominant modes of dance and performance, and developing work in collaboration with people whose voices are often less represented.
