Curated by Aarhus Dance Collective (DK)

Dansetapas

December 2nd & 3rd, 2025 (90 min.)

DanseTapas is an initiative from Aarhus Dance Collective (AaDC) that gives local artists working with dance and movement an opportunity to share pieces of their ongoing artistic process.

The performers at this fourth edition of Dansetapas were selected through an "open call" curated by Aarhus Dance Collective.

MELLEM OS [BETWEEN US]
Nadja World / Rikke Ebling / Theatre I DER

We know that setting boundaries is important. But why is it so difficult?
“Between Us” is the title of a new artistic research project that explores setting boundaries, communication and consent. The project aims to develop a dance performance that, supplemented by teaching materials and workshops, can support sex education based on bodily images and experiences. With the performance, we seek to bring interpersonal exchanges to light – to encourage dialogue and reflection – and to draw attention to the space between people where relationships arise, are negotiated and experienced.

Concept/choreographers: Nadja World and Rikke Ebling in collaboration with Teater I DER
Dancers: Olivia Vestergaard Jørgensen, Ida Ingeborg Andersen, Louise Hjorth Jacobsen, Lea Demuth, Lea Gatzsche, Agnes Anker Ibsen, Mathias Møller Jepsen and Johanne Ringblom.

IT’S NOT THAT DEEP?
Cypher Movement

‘It’s Not That Deep?’ invites the audience into a cypher-inspired space where improvisation, spoken word and expression meet. Three performers with roots in Jamaican, Tamil and Armenian culture explore how words, movement and identity intersect in the norms we live by, seen through friendship and dialogue. Inspired by hip hop and street dance, movement becomes an open dialogue where stories are shaped and norms are challenged.

Dancers: Nicoline Quarrie, Vinthiya Vijayarasa and Ani Avagian.

ER DER NOGEN HJEMME? [IS ANYONE HOME?]
Off Axis

Is anyone home?
That is the question we ask. We are seven dancers, each of whom associates the word “home” with something very special.
When are you really home? Where is home?
Is there something in us that is always drawn to it – to the feeling of belonging?

Dancers: Louise Brandt, Nellie Granlund, Emilie Høegholm Ernst Lauridsen, Frederikke Vestergaard, Johanne Møller Jepsen, Paula Magdalene Maier Madsen and Lea Gatzche.

Aboutg Aarhus Dance Collective (DK)

DanseTapas is an initiative created by Aarhus Dance Collective (AaDC), an established group of contemporary dancers and choreographers passionate about expanding and empowering the local dance community as well as connecting artists in Aarhus through interdisciplinary initiatives.

For this event AaDC curates an evening where local artists working with dance are able to share their Work-in-Progress and have an open talk with the audience afterwards. This gives the artists an opportunity to test new ideas and get feedback as well as give the audience the rare opportunity to follow the process leading up to a finished piece.

We look forward to once again sharing our love for dance with you all.

All the best,
Anne-Sofie, Lucas, Maria & Sara
