DanseTapas

December 9th - 11th, 2026, 19:30

DanseTapas is an initiative by Aarhus Dance Collective, in which local dance artists share insights into their creative processes. It is a rare opportunity to see what Aarhus’s dance talents and young professionals are working on right now.

For this fifth edition of DanseTapas, the artists will be selected by Aarhus Dance Collective through an open call, which is open to all dance artists.

OPEN CALL – DANSETAPAS

We are once again opening the call for DanseTapas, an evening dedicated to sharing, experimenting and connecting through dance.

DanseTapas offers a space for performing artists working with dance, based in Aarhus or the surrounding area, to present unfinished ideas, excerpts from larger works or explorations in progress. The format is open and informal, with room to test material in front of an audience and exchange thoughts afterwards.

When:
3-4 December (Technical rehearsals, 10:00-17:00)
you will get a timeslot on one of the two days.
8th December (General rehearsal, afternoon)
9-11 December (Performances, 18:00–21:00)
Please note that the exact schedule may vary slightly.

Where: Bora Bora – Dans og Visuelt Teater, Lille Sal
Length: max 15 minutes

This is a paid opportunity.

To participate, you must be available on all of the above dates.

The DanseTapas evening will consist of short sharings followed by an open conversation with the audience. It is a chance to try out new material, receive feedback and meet other artists and audiences in an informal setting.

DanseTapas is initiated and curated by Aarhus Dance Collective in collaboration with Bora Bora – Dans & Visuelt Teater.

Whether you are at the beginning of an idea, developing an ongoing project or simply curious to share your practice, we encourage you to apply.

We look forward to welcoming you for another evening of dance, experimentation and exchange.
