Danish Dance Theatre (DK)
Le Scénario
August 15th & 16th 2026, 13:00
Le Scénario is an intense and high-energy dance performance featuring 10 dancers from the Danish Dance Theatre. The performance was created by the Swedish choreographer Philip Berlin and celebrates the climax as a state of being:
the high leaps, the vibrating energy, the sparkle in the eye.
Swedish choreographer Philip Berlin pays homage to raw post-punk, whilst drawing connections back to the free modern dance of the 1960s and 70s, with references to choreographers such as Merce Cunningham and Michael Clark – all in costumes that flirt with both Renaissance men’s fashion and contemporary queer aesthetics. The performance unfolds as one long crescendo. Light, sound and movement build up and pour over the audience. The focus is on the moment when the body leaves the floor in a leap towards the sky. The dancers spring like deer in full flight – elegant, wild, unpredictable.
The costumes, created by Daniel Åkerström Steen and Philip Berlin, blend historical silhouettes with latex and modern materials. They emphasise the performance’s play with identity, strength and extravagance.
Since its premiere at Dansens Hus in Stockholm in 2023, the performance has been staged across Scandinavia, including at the Oslo Opera House.
