About the performance
Here they can experience how the weightlessness of the sea makes time almost come to a standstill, and where babies and adults can indulge in the peace that the sea can provide. Where past and future merge in a utopian universe and in a whole new wave that moves future generations into the unknown.
As research for the performance, the dancers and choreographers have visited beaches at home and abroad, collected plastic waste and investigated how plastic affects the lives of seas and marine animals. OCEAN hopes to help show new avenues for a greener future and reduce plastic pollution.
A HOPE FOR A GREENER FUTURE IN AN IMPROVED ECOSYSTEM.
The audience is welcome to sit or lie down and experience the performance on their very own terms.

About MYKA (DK)
Behind the performance is choreographer My Grönholdt, who is artistic director of the dance company MYKA and most recently selected for the Statens Kunstfond’s “Career program – The Young Artistic Elite” in 2020-2022. My Grönholdt has previously created the baby and toddler shows POLAR BEAR and THE NIGHT, and with OCEAN it is the first time she is doing a show for both babies and pregnant women with baby in the womb. In addition to her work as a choreographer, she is the mother of three children, all under 7 years of age. My Grönholdt says:
Just like adults and children’s audiences, babies also deserve high artistic quality performing arts as part of their everyday lives and upbringing, and babies will be invited into the universe that leads their senses into the unknown.
When I create performing arts for newborns, I look at the developmental stages of babies; where they are motoric, and mental, and examine where they are in their development and how we can stimulate them at that stage on the baby’s own terms, and challenging them without overstimulating.“
