ON and ON and ON ON and ON
November 12th, 2026, 19:30 (60 min.)
The pulse never breaks, the rhythm is constant, and the space vibrates with life. In a time marked by unrest, polarization, and distance “ON and ON and ON ON and ON” is a powerful reminder of the human need to gather, share, and move together. Some of Malmö’s finest dancers move to continuous house music. The audience is invited to join on their own terms — sit, stand, lie down or dance along.
After the performance the dance party continues in HeadQuarters.
The starting point lies in one of our oldest social rituals: dancing together, rhythmically, over an extended period of time. Some of Malmö’s finest dancers move in a continuous loop to a house music score in a warm and intimate setting. The pulse never breaks, the rhythm is constant, and the space vibrates with life. The audience is invited to join on their own terms — sit, stand, lie down or dance along. Boundaries dissolve, and a shared space emerges where differences meet through the language of the body.
In a time marked by unrest, polarization, and distance – where conflicts and crises shape our daily lives. Choreographer Maria Naidu presents a work that moves in the opposite direction. ON and ON and ON ON and ON is a powerful reminder of the human need to gather, share, and move together.
About Maria Naidu (SE)
Maria Naidu is a Malmö-based choreographer, dancer and teacher with nearly four decades of professional experience. She lived in New York City from 1985–1998, working with Jennifer Muller/THE WORKS from 1991–1998, before moving to Amsterdam, then Härnösand and settling in Malmö in 2002. Her work explores how dance can create connection, belonging and shared experience across social and cultural boundaries.
Maria Naidu creates dances that speaks directly to people. Her work invites audiences into experiences that are physical, immediate and shared—whether encountered in a theatre, a public space or through participation in the dance itself.
One conviction remains central to her work: dance can be artistically rigorous while remaining open, generous and accessible. It can belong to the trained dancer, the curious spectator and the person stepping onto the dance floor for the first time.
