Sleepless
With two insomniac women as pathfinders, the nocturnal continents of the body are crossed. At a research station under the midnight sun high up north and in an apartment in the labyrinth of the big city, a journey into unknown land begins. Through the unstable filter of insomnia, contours of other possible realities appear, in free fall between utopia and dystopia. "Sleepless" has been created as a collaboration between director Petra Berg Holbek, composer and sound artist Kristian Hverring, performer Lisbeth Sonne Andersen and author Kristian Byskov.

About the performance
More and more people are becoming chronically insomniac. They call it an epidemic.
SLEEPLESS moves into the intense turmoil that spreads in our bodies as the insects die out and the world as we know it is engulfed in catastrophes. In the restless alternation between thoughts and exhaustion, the insomniac is alone, left to himself in the night.
SLEEPLESS takes place in a sensuous physical universe with an icy dark undercurrent.
SLEEPLESS is created in an artistic collaboration between ABER DABEI’s director and artistic director Petra Berg, writer Kristian Byskov, composer Kristian Hverring and performer Lisbeth Sonne Andersen. The latter is also on stage together with performer Kristina Sørensen Ougaard. Lighting design by Michael Breiner, scenography by Mikkel Rostrup and costumes by Åsa Gjerstad. Playwright Trine Friberg.
In SLEEPLESS music, light, choreography and a soundscape with Danish text is weaved together as equal elements in the performance.
SLEEPLESS is a co-production between ABER DABEI and Bora Bora – Dance & Visual Theatre.
