WORLD PREMIERE: Experience Danish Dance Theater under the open sky in the brand new performance SURVIVE by choreographer Roza Moshtaghi - a surreal, raw and poetic tribute to resistance and survival, danced by the entire company to music by the band Taco Bitch.

Experience Denmark’s national contemporary dance company, Danish Dance Theatre, under the open sky. This time, the company presents the brand-new performance “SURVIVE – As if for the first time”, created by Tehran-born artist and choreographer Roza Moshtaghi, featuring the company’s ensemble on stage.

“SURVIVE – As if for the first time” is a choreographic ode to the many faces of resistance. Roza Moshtaghi is a Tehran-born artist and choreographer based in Oslo. She draws inspiration from everyday situations and transforms them into surreal, humorous encounters. In her work, fiction is not just a creative choice – it’s a tool for exploring what comes after survival.

In this performance, Roza blends the ordinary, the vulgar, and the exaggerated, where cartoon-like fight scenes and pulsing rhythms shift into moments of gentle poetry. For Roza, it’s essential to listen deeply and speak loudly. And yes, we are allowed to scream.

We’re excited to invite you on this wild journey through different aspects of survival – sprinkled with flashes of light, wildflowers, and moments of theatrical magic, set to original music by the band Taco Bitch.

About Roza Moshtaghi

Roza Moshtaghi is an Iranian artist who lives and works in Oslo. Her creations often are situated within the performing arts field as a choreographer/dancer and performer. Her works deal with the unexplained narratives of desire generated in adapting or reacting to systems/structures. The ordinary, or rather what we have forced inside the uniform of the ordinary, is Roza’s playground. She looks for possibilities to hypothesize “the hidden” by digging into the ordinary as a silent landscape. Roza holds an MA in choreography from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She presents her work internationally and continues developing projects with other artists as a collaborator and performer.
