The Mirror Project

January 27th, 2023 - 19.30

PART OF DET FRIE FELTS FESTIVAL

ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE

“The Mirror Project” is a new choreographic work in the cross-field between performance and installation, which will receive its premiere at the Festival for the Independent Field of Performing Arts. Two dancers, Finnish Taneli Törma and Danish Cecilie Schyth Kjær, perform in front of some large mirrors, the position and angle of which change both vertically and horizontally along the way. Depending on where they sit in the hall, the audience can follow a fascinating interplay between mirrors and performers: Is the focus on the performers as subjects and their movements, or is it rather on the movements as objects reflected in the mirror? Or does the gaze constantly alternate between the two expressions?

The work was originally developed in several programmes at Åben Dans in Roskilde and the Development Platform for the Performing Arts in Copenhagen, as well as at Aabne Scene and Bora Bora in Aarhus.

Non-verbal performance.

There will be a 15-minute artist talk on stage after the performance.
