Under The Trees

Immersive
in the forest
nature experience
May 14th - 18th, 2024 - 19.30 (120 min. including transportation)

PREMIERE: We have called you. You've gone outside. Into the woods. You don't know what will happen. But you can feel safe. An invitation to a time with trees and their oldest partners, the mushrooms, as we move together through the landscape.

The forest. Is magical. The forest. Is made of wood. But also so much more. You are here. Now. Deep. In the forest. There’s no turning back. The trees have called you. Into the forest. You do not know what will happen next. But you are safe. In the forest.

We invite you to spend some time with the trees and their ancient friends – the mushrooms. Together we will move within the forest. Listening. Touching. Resting. Sharing.

“Under The Trees” is a a participatory walking-performance where you become part of the world’s largest natural network. In and under the forest.

In and underneath the trees of this forest.

Secret Hotel has for several years created participatory performances about and with some of the creatures we share this planet with. For instance ants, and bees. Performing art, which is both sensorially and intellectually stimulating.

A Bora Bora co-production.

Secret Hotel creates participatory events and performances which are sensorial and at the same time intellectually stimulating. The work seeks to heighten the human awareness of our surroundings and our relations with the more-than-human. Works of Secret Hotel range from site-specific events and performance lectures to a walk in a landscape. Central is the collaboration with the more-than-human and viewing the audience as ‘guests’ and as co-creators.

Secret Hotel is based in Aarhus, but also has its own studio-space in the countryside of Mols. It is an independent organization called Earthwise Residency. Here you can immerse yourself in the land through artist residencies, work retreats, or participating in events.

Christine Fentz is the artistic director of Secret Hotel.
