PART OF THE DANCE BABY DANCE FESTIVAL

FREE EVENT AT DOKK1

September 20th & 21st, 2025, 11:00 and 13:00 (25 min.)

UNICORNS is a sensuous and playful street theater experience with two large pastel-colored unicorns. They dance and gallop through the city, creating magical moments of hope, freedom and community amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

UNICORNS is a vibrant and playful performance where two large, furry unicorns in pastel colors appear in the city streets – dancing, galloping and vibrating with energy. Created by the NORDLYS collective (Julie Rasmussen and My Grönholdt), the performance is a celebration of hope, freedom and community.

The audience is surprised in the midst of everyday life and invited to experience public space anew. Some stop, curious and smiling. Children run after the unicorns, adults film, ask questions and laugh – everyone becomes part of the shared moment. The unicorns communicate without words, but with body language, gaze and presence – creating a space for play and imagination in the midst of the bustle of the city.

The performance activates senses and emotions and leaves room for the unexpected and magical. It is choreographed by NORDLYS, with costumes by Kaja Haven and soundscapes by Erik Christoffersen. A poetic, sensuous and communal encounter in urban space.
