Our joy is our revolution! In the underground club, they let themselves be carried away and celebrate their shared love of music. They find ecstasy, laugh, cry and grind. With live beat-making, poetry and body percussion, the dancers invite you on a journey through black culture via genres such as broken beat, house, hip-hop and soul.

Music is life, that’s why our hearts have beats.
Add some percussion, some strings, put bells on your feet.
Rock to this track, jack into the deep.
Vibe to the tune of truth, radical love will set us free.
We find ourselves in the intimate atmosphere of an underground club, where the lighting is soft and warm. The darkness creates a sense of security. Here, our shared love of music means everything. In the ecstasy, we find ourselves, one another and a sense of spirituality. The raw bass balances with melodies and soulful vocals that celebrate the feminine qualities of black culture.
We move not only to the music, but because of it. In it, we find peace. Here we can laugh, cry, grind and find space for ourselves. Here we are witnesses to each other and understand the unsaid. Our joy is our revolution and our vulnerability is our strength.
Choreographer and dancer Marie Kaae has brought together a group of international artists across generations in a dance and music performance rooted in contemporary afro-diasporic music and dance genres such as broken beat, house, hip-hop and soul. The music is the intelligent artistic language that aims for liberation.
“Wired” was selected by the European network of dance venues, Aerowaves, as one of the 20 most exciting new performances in Europe.
