Parkour Workshop with Antero Hein

August 15th 2026 at 11.15 (45 mins)
Trekanten

This workshop offers a fascinating insight into the world of Parkour.

The workshop begins with simple exercises and gradually moves on to more complex movement sequences inspired by the show Uventa, which can be adapted to all levels of experience. The exercises do not require a specific level of athleticism, but are rather designed to give a feel for the movement logic of Parkour.

Depending on the participants’ preferences, basic floor acrobatics and partner exercises may also be included.

Dance workshop for children and families with Dansk Danseteater

August 15th & 16th at 12.15 (45 mins)
Pavillonen

Once again this year, Dansk Danseteater is offering fun, creative dance workshops for the whole family, led by dance educator Natalie Sloth Richter and the company’s talented dancers. Here, we take the children on a journey of movement into the world of dance, where, at a child-friendly level, we’ll try our hand at ideas and choreography from Dansk Danseteater’s productions, focusing on the body, creativity, imagination and togetherness.

Through Dansk Danseteater’s children’s activities, we aim to:

  • Stimulate a new understanding of and interest in dance as an art form through play, exercises and creativity
  • Enable children to experience themselves and each other in new ways within a new community
  • Foster a joy of movement, motor skills, body awareness and a positive view of their own bodies
  • To foster self-esteem and self-confidence through dance
  • To foster an understanding of their own and others’ creativity and ideas
  • To enable children to experience their bodies as creative and communicative tools

Shuffle is an energetic and creative dance style that focuses on footwork, groove and an understanding of the music – often danced to EDM and house music.

In this workshop, you’ll learn basic shuffle moves, transitions and short combos, whilst also working on flow, confidence and personal style. The workshop is open to all levels and ages, so you don’t need any experience to take part. And no, you’re never too old to learn to shuffle!

Expect high energy, a great atmosphere and plenty of dancing!

Cypher with Cypher Movement

August 15th at 17.00 (60 mins)
Pavillonen

Come and experience a cypher-inspired performance featuring freestyle concepts drawn from various street dance styles, followed by an open jam where the audience and dancers can interact freely.

A cypher is a gathering where dancers form a circle and exchange energy, storytelling, ideas and communication in the moment through movement. The music will emerge spontaneously in the space and be unknown to the dancers beforehand, fostering presence, improvisation and authentic moments.

There are no expectations – come as you are, be curious, and help create a safe and respectful space around dance and community.

Cypher Movement is a dance association in Aarhus Municipality that works to create a supportive and open space for freestyle dancers across styles, levels and backgrounds.

They facilitate weekly open-floor dance sessions where everyone is welcome to practise, share, develop and draw inspiration from one another. Through community, improvisation and respect, they aim to bring together dancers from different scenes and create an inclusive space where both beginners and experienced dancers can come together as both learners and teachers at the same time.

Their focus is not on competition, but on presence, exchange and shared development through dance.

Skipping Workshop with Parini Secondo

August 16th at 11.00 (60 mins)
Pavillonen

The workshop introduces two specialised forms of skipping rope training – Double Dutch and Chinese wheel – in a playful and accessible way. There will be a particular focus on the connection between jumping and music: participants will explore rhythm and coordination to create short choreographies with the skipping rope and discover the expressive side of skipping rope footwork, inspired by viral videos and tutorials on social media.

No special athletic skills are required: the session includes both physical exercises and listening exercises that can be done whilst seated. We strongly recommend running shoes or trainers, as well as comfortable clothing. You are welcome to bring your own skipping rope, but if you don’t have one, don’t worry! We’ll provide skipping ropes, including long ones.
