Collaboration with Bora Bora

You can contact us about collaborations regarding guest performances and co-productions via the form further down the page. At the bottom of the page, you can also read more about how we distinguish between guest performances and co-productions.

If you want to apply for a residency with us, you can read more about Bora Bora Residency Centre and the open call for applications here.

We receive artistic proposals for residencies, guest performances(tour) and co-productions throughout the year and process them continuously. Curation is done through our artistic advisory board’s three annual meetings and we send out responses after each meeting.

Currently, for sustainability reasons, we are not able to travel abroad to see individual works, but we want to see as much as possible and be informed about the development of artists and companies. Any invitations can be sent to programming@bora-bora.dk.

Bora Bora is not an open stage, and it is not possible to rent Bora Bora’s stages for guest performances, but we collaborate with festivals with their own curation. Please contact us in this regard at programming@bora-bora.dk.

A house for all bodies
We strive to create the special Bora Bora experience together with every team in the house. This means that we collaborate equally and creatively with everyone involved, artists and office artists. Some of us make art – others make art happen.

Our Code of Conduct forms the basis for a safe and respectful workplace for all bodies. Read them here. If you have special needs, we are always open to discuss possible solutions. Although Bora Bora is housed in an older building with certain limitations, we do our best to find defiant solutions to meet your needs.

Keep up with our programme by subscribing to our newsletter, or follow us on Facebook (Bora Bora and Bora Bora Residency Centre) or Instagram (Bora Bora and Bora Bora Residency Centre).

A co-production agreement with Bora Bora always includes
– Agreement on presentation of the work in Bora Bora’s programme
– A co-production fee
– Customised PR package with press work and online and print marketing
– Feedback on production planning and technical needs
– A producer who ensures a good collaboration with Bora Bora from planning to realisation

Depending on your needs and Bora Bora’s capacity during the period in question, the agreement may also include
– Development or rehearsal programme at Bora Bora
– Dramaturgical sparring

All agreements for guest performances at Bora Bora are made after consideration by the artistic advisory board.

All guest performance agreements are fee-based.

A residency in Bora Bora is an artistic period where companies or independent artists develop or produce new material.

A residency does not guarantee a subsequent co-production agreement.

Bora Bora offers two different types of residencies
– Open call residencies (see Bora Bora Residency Centre)
– Project residencies (see next item below)

We offer project residencies to companies and artists who need a development period in a professional black box to take their project to the next phase. Project residencies are given to companies and artists who already have external funding for their project.

In a project residency, Bora Bora offers
– Use of space for a period of time
– Opportunity for process viewing
– By appointment, we offer technical assistance and dramaturgical advice

To start a dialogue with us about a possible project residency, please write to programming@bora-bora.dk:
– Project description
– Budget and financing plan
– Production plan
– Technical needs
– Possible residency periods

We offer regular dialogue meetings with artists who would like to develop a collaboration with Bora Bora. The meetings can be with either one of the house producers or the theatre manager.

To arrange a time for a dialogue meeting, please write to programming@bora-bora.dk
