Don Gnu

Don Gnu – Denmark’s most touring dance company – are house artists on Bora Bora. Don Gnu was formed in 2010 by Jannik Elkær (Don) and Kristoffer Louis Andrup Pedersen (Gnu). With an agreement from 2014, Bora Bora has strengthened the collaboration and co-produced Don Gnu’s performances ever since.

Don and Gnu have themselves been on stage in the audience success “Kvinde kend dit skab”, which in 2013 was nominated for the prestigious Reumert. In the same year, Don Gnu was awarded the Audience Award – a prize founded by the Aarhus Stage Art Center. Don Gnu has also been the artists behind the performances “Men in sandals” and “As a start”.

In 2014 they premiered “N.A.R.G – North Arena Rumble Game”, which toured the whole country and in 2015 was part of the 20 priority performances selected by the 40 European dance theaters that are part of the Aerowaves network.

In 2015, Don Gnu created “M.I.S. – all night long”. The third and final part in the Men in Sandals trilogy.

Since then, the company created “Human In Balance” in connection with Aarhus being European Capital of Culture in 2017 and was nominated for another Reumert.

Then they created “A Snowball’s Chance In Hell” (also winner of the Audience Award), “Raiders of the Gray Gold”, “Walk-Man”, “Tourist” and “Resident”.

Don Gnu has toured both at home and abroad, which has taken them around the Nordic region, as well as to e.g. South Korea, Canada, Cuba and Germany. They have performed several times at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
