August 30th - September 1st, 2023 - 19.30

Why do we really hang on for life? How long can we keep going? “Stamina” is physical action theater about life struggles, expectations and pressure - with subtle poetry and a good deal of exhaustion added. A performance by DON GNU’s youth company UNG GNU.

Do we endure to be loved – or do we love to be able to endure?

Why do we persevere throughout our lives?
And how long can you keep going?

In STAMINA, we see the meeting between two people. They are crazy about each other, so they each do their best to create a good atmosphere and live up to each other’s expectations. But what happens in the meeting when we run out of stamina and can no longer bear to play along on the other person’s terms.

At the centre of STAMINA is the stamina that life demands of all of us. About the struggles it takes to live up to expectations and pressure, maintain a facade, withstand resistance and, not least, other people. And about what we can be lucky to find on the other side if we dare to let go.

STAMINA is physical action theatre with subtle poetry and a good deal of exhaustion.

In 2023 dancer Astrid Pauline Schmidt received the Reumert Talent Award for her work.

Suitable for audiences aged 14 and up.

STAMINA [ˈsdæˀmina]

★★★★★
“The only problem with the performance Stamina is that it doesn’t play long enough.”
– Kulturbunkeren

“The performance presents a real and raw landscape, and throughout it is very little staged to look at, despite how perfectly minutely it is choreographed.”
